Congratulations! You completed the Agnes&Dora Discover group, placed your first order, and are now impatiently waiting for those first boxes of inventory–what do you need to do next after onboard?
I have been in business since March 2017 and I have learned quite a bit (mostly through trial and error–many errors!). Here is what a mix of what I did do and what I wish I had done while waiting for my order to arrive! Many of my suggestions will be made much easier by joining The Socialite Suite with Brenda Ster on Facebook–join now and thank me later!
Yes, you will sell Agnes&Dora–but so do many other women! Why does a customer become loyal to a specific consultant? Because they develop a relationship. Start thinking about how you want to be known by your customers. Think about what objects and colors you are drawn to (for example, my husband has always called me Birdie–my brand involves a hummingbird and shades of my favorite colors, blue and purple). Start planning what will differentiate YOU from everyone else.
Plan your content!
You will want a good mix of personality, purposeful, and promotional posts across many social media channels. Facebook likes to switch up their algorithms on occasion, but being diverse in your platforms will help you ride that wave! Think about Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Periscope, and blogging as part of your strategy and how you will use them.
Figure out your physical space!
Whether you have a spacious boutique or you will be selling strictly online out of boxes, know how you’re going to set up your business. I have a spare room for my boutique and ordered racks, hangers, and shipping supplies while waiting. Check out my kit of suggestions here: https://kit.com/tarynhermansen/building-a-boutique
Decide your business strategy.
What styles will you carry? Size range? Will you be investing beyond the initial onboarding package? Can you afford to reinvest in your business exclusively for a few months to give yourself a healthy start?
Set up your business accounts!
I have a separate checking, saving, and credit card just for Agnes&Dora. This will make things a lot easier come tax season. Have a plan for taxes. Can’t stress that enough.
Above all, make a schedule.
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by this process, but if you break it down into steps, it will feel much more manageable. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
If you’re looking for more thoughts from someone who’s been there, come chat with me in my group! I love answering questions and am more than willing to help!
